FETE

The weather did its best to dampen our spirits but did not succeed. A good number of people attended and enjoyed the attractions on offer. It was particularly pleasing to see some new helpers and the feedback has been most positive. Some even want to help again next year.

THANKS to all who helped before, during, after and the next morning for the final clear up – there are too many to name and someone would be mistakenly omitted.

At the post Fete meeting – held in the cool church due to the heatwave – the draft balance sheet was discussed but we await the bank statement before the final share out. Some money will need to be kept to replace gazebos but it would be expected that the Hall and Church will both receive over £1000. The final amount will be published next month.

MOWING

We continue to thank Dean, Frank, Gary and Jake for their hard work in the churchyard and on the Hall green. DOG OWNERS – a special request to clear up after your dog as we do not want to risk health and clogged machines. Please use the bin provided on the Green.

GARDEN EVENING

Over 30 residents attended this annual event at Fernleigh House; the not quite so hot evening was enjoyed especially by the children and adults who watched them having fun. Again some new people attended, and it was a good opportunity for them to be introduced.

Thanks to all who attended and gave £240.50 was made for church funds.
