The Craft Fair on October 18th was a great success with 14 stalls and very tasty cakes in the refreshments. £300 was raised towards Village Hall funds.
Harvest Thanksgiving – A lovely congregation aged from 2 months to 92 attended this traditional service. The church looked beautiful, and the sale afterwards raised £120 for the Addington Fund, which supports farmers who are unwell and sometimes become homeless. It was wonderful to welcome 7 children who offered gifts at the altar and helped with the talk and collection.
The competition to create an alien from fruit or veg was won by the McCole family, and the weirdest animal was made by Evie McDermott. Brave new residents Michelle and Tony Ward were our judges. Thanks to all who contributed and helped.
Quiz – Sadly, this will be the last quiz devised by Revd Canon Jane Baxter before she retires next year, so we hope for a good turnout.
Price £10 including supper of soup and puddings. Please contact Mary on 770242.
7pm for 7.30pm start. Tables of up to 6, or join others on the night. BYO drinks and glasses.
There will also be a raffle.
Remembrance Sunday – The service begins at 10.50am to include the two-minute silence at 11am.
Food Bank – We continue to contribute; donations can be left in the church or at 14 Main St. Any Christmas goodies must be alcohol-free, please.
