The meeting held on 16th  May confirmed various arrangements raised at the previous meeting in March. Any other offers of help on the day, setting up and dismantling the  gazebos will be most welcome, (June on 770046 and Mary 770242). Items for Granny’s attic, tombola and raffle can be left at 35 or 14 Main Street. Screw top wine bottles both full and empty are needed for  the ‘Wine and Water’ stall too. Cakes and produce for the stall and teas would be very much appreciated. More information will be on posters and leaflets shortly.

Friday 30th June at 2pm at the Hall to sort donated items; time to be arranged for putting up the band gazebo; 10am on July 1st setting up. Next meeting 13th June at 7.30 pm to check on progress.

CORONATION

Bells were rung on 6TH May, the service on 7th May included special prayers and later the Hall Committee organised a party of celebration where picnics and BBQ were consumed and live music provided by Anthea and Daniel added to the festivities. Cakes, Quiz and Crown competitions were enjoyed and glasses of fizz raised in a toast to the King and Queen.

CHURCH NEWS

The Annual Church Parochial Meeting was held on May 11th. The PCC has been sadly depleted by John Nicholl’s death after many year’s service.

We could do with some new members including a Treasurer and Secretary. Please contact the Rector or Mary (Churchwarden) to find out more, if you think you may be able to help. There are usually 4 meetings a year. Other members were re-elected and reports on Ministry, works completed, grants received and the Churchwarden report were read.

A recent survey of the churchyard resulted in 70 wild flowers being listed – please see the church notice board; hedgehogs have also been sighted so this is all good news.

PLAY PARK UPKEEP

Avery successful Cheese and Wine event raised £430 towards this lovely play area. Thanks to Dionne and helpers for their entertaining and tasty evening.
